Wait a fucking minute. If Bonnie is 18 now (even though she ain’t never celebrate her b-day) and she dated Jeremy last year in TVD time, wouldn’t that mean when they dated she was 17 and he was 15? Meaning Bonnie got cheated on by a fucking youngblood bruh. I never even thought about it but she really got cheated on by a 15 year old with a 15 year old like I literally hate these writers so god damn much.

Jeremy was 16 going on 17 (or possibly already 17 since his birthday happened offscreen like Bon, Ty, and Matt) when he cheated on Bonnie. They’re only a year apart. Jeremy was never 15 on the show.

Oh forreal? My bad, the website i was looking at had Bonnie listed as 1992 and Jeremy as 1994.

Yeah, he’s only a year younger than Elena (though they stay making Elena talk about him like he’s 6 years younger), and since Bon and Elena are the same age.

Jer was 15 in the pilot, and I think the others were 16 in the pilot. I don’t remember where it was mentioned however.

By Vicky maybe? I know there’s a screw-up somewhere, and I know it came when they decided to stretch the timeline. By season 2, Damon was calling Jeremy a 16-year-old child even though JP said it was the same year.

The others were 16, but they were juniors, right? Cause I’m pretty sure they were juniors the whole time. Or were they 16 in the pilot but upgraded to 17 later? Cause it’s only been a year.

bonnie was driving in the pilot, and all of the main girls were seen in driving scenes in the first year alone so yeah i think they were all 16 except elena who was 17, i’m sure at some point someone had specified her age during the first or second season. i think it was mentioned in dialog at some point that pointed out jeremy’s age specifically but since it was already mentioned that he was just a year younger anyway, it’s not too important. jeremy must have had an uncelebrated birthday at some point because, yeah it was only a year that had advanced from the pilot up until elena’s 18th birthday and jeremy was 16 at least in the birthday episode.

But Elena turned 18 in season 3 premiere which was like a month before going back to school so she was already 17 in the pilot, Caroline turned when she was 17 and then in 3x11 was her supposed 18th birthday. Bonnie was already eighteen in season 3 because apparently Abby left her when she was 3 and didn’t see her until 15 years later which makes Bonnie 18. Jeremy was a sophomore so he was like 15 in the pilot and turned 16 somewhere that year. Caroline was 17 in the pilot since her birthday is like 2 months after school starts (3x06 school starts - 3x11 Caroline’s birthday) and Matt and Tyler? No clue, just like Damon, who might be 21 years old, I think :S

yeah im pretty sure the issue here is the fact that this show has been on air for five years collectively but the plot only moved about a year and a half. i suppose that with this rumored time jump that is going down in season five, that make it two years. and there’s so many uncelebrated birthdays too. elena’s 18th was literally during the summer, but jeremy was driving before that. so at some point between the pilot and the masquerade episode in season two he had a birthday that the writers didn’t think to mention or include. and i thought bonnie was at least seventeen now, with sixteen being the bare minimum. i knew elena was seventeen because that had been drilled into the dialog enough. and i will never buy damon as 21. lol. not trying to be mean. even if that is the canon age for him, i will never buy that. ian cannot pull off 21. i think they’re safe in leaving his age as ambiguous as possible.
